The heart is in the center of the chest
but it beats on the left side
I guess that is the reason why…
the heart isn’t always right.
True enough, sometimes we get too overwhelmed by our emotions which by nature are hard to control.
I once had the idea that love implies giving everything up for that one person or what I would occasionally refer to as the “the ultimate sacrifice”. Being in love is being a martyr; doing what your heart tells you to do even if it defies logic. Optimism made me believe that such sacrifices would always be reciprocated by the person you gave your heart to.
In time however I have transformed- from being an idealist to a realist. From the experiences of my friends,"CUZIN CK"and those who seek consolation from me, I learned that no matter how much you give up for love, happiness is not guaranteed. To make matters worse, the people who make sacrifices end up getting the opposite of what they want which is pain…
The etymology alone of the word pain speaks so much about its nature. It came from the Latin poinE which means to punish. Pain entails emotional anguish or in simpler terms, being miserable. Does love and pain go hand in hand? Personally, I don’t think so…
Love is not about pain but happiness… an idea often overlooked by those who are blindly following their heart. We are given a mind to go along with a heart for a purpose and that is to think… to be logical. I am not saying that logic is the key to happiness for it is not. What I would want to point out is that these “tools”, our heart and mind go together.
Sacrifices are inevitable, if you don’t risk getting hurt, you would end up being alone for the rest of your life. Such has its limitations however. There is no point in going after someone who has repeatedly caused you pain in more ways than one… Learn! Don’t let your heart fool you. If that person really loves you, then why it is that he/she is out their enjoying himself and you’re stuck in your room with all your senti songs crying. Are you still not tired of staring blankly at your ceiling, thinking that someday things would be better between you and that person? Wake up! Even if you spend a hundred years with the same routine, tomorrow would still be no different. Don’t be a fool! Are you not tired of being played around? One day you’re the happiest person alive, the next thing you know you’re taken for granted. This cycle would go on and on until you decide to put an end to it. Do yourself a favor! There are a hundred million other people in this world, people who would gladly appreciate your presence in their lives. Why stick with some who does not give a damn about you? You deserve someone better!
The tighter you hold the shattered pieces glass in your hand, the more painful it becomes and the deeper your wound would be.
